Info:Deer Shed Festival is a music, arts, and science family festival set in the beautiful surroundings of North Yorkshire running over the 24th-26th July 2015. Now in its 6th year, the festival hosts an array of musical talent from across the UK and internationally. This year we have the wonderful John Grant as our Saturday night headliner, Billy Bragg headlining our main stage on Friday and The Unthanks on Sunday. As well as this, the festival offers award winning PG rated comedy for the whole family to enjoy,as well as theatre, spoken word and literary events. This year the festival will be offering over 40 workshops from arts and crafts to music and singing workshops. Info: What can we say, a fantastic list of headliners for this years festival: Mick Pini and his Blues Band, Mick has toured the world for over 30 years and has never had a day job. He lives, breathes, plays and sings the blues with genuine passion. Eric Clapton described him as ‘The legitimate successor to Peter Green’. Dan Burnett Blues Band, a favourite of the festival Dan is back this time with his band so expect something new from one of the UK’s leading piano vocalists. Ian Siegal, yes he's back after last years spellbinding performance. The tour he planned around us last year went on to culminate at the Royal Albert Hall and a live BBC album recording. “Awash with wit, lust and distraction…..the cleverest writer and most magnetic performer of Blues in the UK”. MOJO magazine. “A national treasure.” CLASSIC ROCK magazine. Tom Attah & the Bad Man Clan, another festival favourite Tom is back also with his band so if you've enjoyed his solo appearances in the past, this is not to be missed.

Info: Hull Folk Festival is a festival of music for the people, by the people. The aim is to celebrate folk culture, its traditional values and varied styles, on our doorstep and from around the world. A three day event covering Hull Marina, Victoria Pier, Humber Street and the Old Fruit Market areas. Every corner you turn you will see and hear the sounds of folk music so pop your clogs on and join in with traditional folk dancing, swing around the Maypole and try instrument making and songwriting. There will be an array of live folk sessions in the pubs, a main stage, a busker trail, an open mic warehouse for Hull's up and coming talent and ticketed events on the evenings.

Info: The Lounge is all about local music live. It's a structured jammin' night with a twist. Typically the night kicks off with the house band at 8.30. Followed by:- The Students band (a mixture of younger students from 3 local music teachers) play a classic rock show, with songs from their rock idols. An Acoustic Set by a guest singer or some accoustic jamming. Drummers and Strummers (older students joining up together) bring you some new tunes. The epic, topical and unpredictable quiz promises a hangover for the lucky and clever winning team. With 'sausage sandwich tiebreaker!' A featured slot for our guest band. Jamming from our local musician friends and those who pole up with an instrument. The House Band close the night. Don't miss a moment (or the chance to get a seat...)

Among those appearing are Mary Chapin Carpenter, Eddi Reader, Philip Selway, Martin Simpson and, of course, Kate herself.
